Export Documentation: Part 5 – Certificate of Analysis
Export documentation is critical. It needs to very accurate and comprehensive and to meet the full requirements of the importing country. Previously we have examined:
- Part 1 – The Export Invoice
- Part 2 – Nigerian CCVO / C16
- Part 3 – Bill of Lading & Air Waybill
- Part 4 – Certificate of Origin
This month we will be looking at the Certificate of Analysis
Certificate of Analysis
All Chemical export documents require a Certificate of Analysis (CofA). There should be a CofA for each product. Preferably the CofA should be that issued by the manufacturer and should include all the standard parameters for the applicable product.
The CoA should also state:
- Full Chemical name as well the Brand name
- Quantity / Packing:
- Batch No:
- Date of Manufacture:
- Date of expiry (or re-test date):
- Storage Conditions
In order to tie the documents together, add the following to the CofA:
- Exporters Ref (Inv No):
- Customer PO:
- Vessel Name:
- Sailed Date:
- Import Licence No (if applicable):
