Kenya KEBS, PVoC & CoC Update

Effective from the 1st September 2016, all full load containers (FCL’s) certified under Route A of the KEBS (Kenya Bureau of Standards) regulations and that are destined for Kenya are required to be sealed by the PVoC Agents (Pre-Export Verification of Conformity to Standards) after inspection by the Agent in the country of supply .

Manufacturers that import raw materials for only their own production can apply to KEBS (Kenya Bureau of Standards) for an exemption Certificate. This will exempt them from the PVoC regulations and costs for the products exempted. Serial & Pin numbers are required and must be quoted. Kenya – new KEBS PVoC regs

The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), a statutory organisation of the government of Kenya, has implemented guidelines called the Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) for exports to Kenya. All consignments which are subject to the Kenya PVoC must obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by an authorised PVoC Agent. The CoC is a mandatory document for Customs Clearance in Kenya and any consignments arriving at Kenyan Ports without this document will be denied entry….
